Whether you're interested in scoring music for film, TV or video games, Bosse's unique "Writing for Visual Media" course can get you started in this exciting facet of the music industry. Developed by composer and BSM faculty pianist Rosin Gerdin, this course will introduce you to the aesthetics of writing for visual media, instrumentation and orchestration, writing techniques and scoring music using software.

Pre-Requisite: Music Theory 101 (Waiver Available Upon Consultation With The Director)
Upon completion of this course, you will have learned to:
- Write music for strings
- Construct punches, streamers, and beat syncs
- Write music for woodwinds
- Choose the appropriate software for your scores
- Decide where music should and should not go ("spotting a film")
- Utilize a variety of compositional techniques
- Choose effective instrumentation and/or samples for your scores
- Effectively develop thematic material
- Write music for percussion
- Score a project using "Digital Performer"
- Mix audio and film using "Digital Performer"
- Write music for brass
