TheBSM is proud to offer the largest and most diverse ensemble program on the South Shore. An integral part of the educational process, ensembles are an ideal opportunity for students of all ages to bring what they've learned in private lessons to fruition. The experience of performing and interacting with other musicians is a necessary step on the ladder to success!
Some Ensembles are offered in Genre specific format, so that students of all ages can perform in a group that focuses specifically on the music of their choice (Jazz Ensemble/Classic Rock Ensemble/Modern Rock Ensemble/ Fusion ensemble/ Metal Ensemble..etc)
Details -Students do not need to be enrolled in private lessons at Bosse in order to join an ensemble. If a student does not currently take lesons at Bosse, a brief placement audition can be arranged with a Bosse faculty member in order to place the student in the proper group.
-Ensembles run all year long, and last for 7 weeks each. They meet for 60-75 minutes on the same standing day of the week.
-All ensembles are recorded in our state-of-the art recording studio on the 7th week
-Payment/cost of ensemble is separate from private lessons.
Fact: Students who participate in both lessons and ensemble, practice more, are more committed to music, and have better technique, rhythm and improvisational skills than students who take private lessons alone.
“All styles of music have something to offer in terms of harmony, melody and rhythm that can enhance a student’s abilities. By providing students with an opportunity to perform in a wide variety of musical styles, we open them up to new possibilities and expand their musical horizons. We have seen remarkable results from students of all ages who participate in our ensemble program regularly.” Ron Bosse, BSM President
