Career Bound 2009: Since its inception in 2005, Career Bound has been one of Bosse's most demanding and unique summer programs. This "invitation only" event focuses on performing and recording elaborate arrangements of modern and classic jazz, R&B, rock and fusion tunes.
The programs founder, BSM president Ron Bosse, carefully selects the appropriate students and never fails to select a challenging set list for the week. This year's program focused on 2 songs peformed by pop/R&B vocalist Joss Stone entitled "Tell Me 'Bout It' and "Right To Be Wrong". The tunes were arranged for a full rhythm section consisting of guitar, bass, drums and organ as well as a horn section, lead vocals and background vocals.
Students selected for this year's Career Bound program included saxophonist Nick Svizzero, vocalist Julie Doyle and vocalist Marisa Duane. In an effort to take the program to the next level, Bosse decided to construct a first rate, faculty all-star rhythm section which included Ron Bosse (bass), Mike Stavitz (drums), John Cooke (organ) and Tom Barry (guitar). Faculty vocalist and co-founder Trina Aitken also stepped in to arrange the background vocal parts, rehearse the singers, and perform on the final recording.
